Little Learners'
Ethos and Values
All the learning activities are planned
using the six early learning goals and stepping stones. The six
areas of learning are:

Personal,
Social and Emotional
development We encourage sharing, turn taking, and
social interaction Children can share experiences with one another. |

Mathematics Little Learners have lots of
opportunities for numeracy including building, cooking, counting
games and songs.

Creative |

Communication, Language and Literacy We use books, a writing corner, circle
time, stories and topics to help develop language and communication
skills. Children are encouraged to hold writing
and drawing implements correctly and use these in a variety of ways.

Physical Outdoors the children can move in a
variety of ways, running, climbing, jumping and hopping.
They practice ball skills and activities to improve hand-eye
coordination.

|
Knowledge and Understanding of the World Children explore the environment, both
indoors and outdoors. They
use simple computer programs. We
have visits from people in the community.
A range of themes are used to expand the childrens’
knowledge and vocabulary.

We do not provide care for children who
are unwell, have a temperature or sickness, or who have an
infectious disease. The leader will contact the parents if their
child becomes ill while
at the setting.
Time to be away from Little Learners
Chicken pox—5 days from onset of rash
Diarrhoea/vomiting—48 hours from last
episode.
Impetigo until lesions are crusted or
healed.

MEDICINES
Only prescribed medication may be
administered (must be in date for the current condition).
Children taking prescribed
medication must be well enough to attend Little Learners. All
medicines are stored in a cabinet and parents give prior written
permission for the administration of medication.
POLICIES
All our policies are kept in a file in
the Club Room; this is available to read at all times though it
cannot be removed from Callowell Club.
