CSI Callowell

On Wednesday February 1st, Callowell underwent the full CSI experience. The children arrived to find that our Olympic Memorabilia had been snatched in an audacious raid by a burglar who had smashed their way in to our new trophy cabinet. With the assistance of PC Gary Lynch, we analysed the evidence the careless thief had left and collected other items they had foolishly discarded. We collected fingerprints and carried out our own investigations before using these ideas as a writing stimulus. After some fantastic ideas and discussions, the children were all informed that there had not really been a robbery and that the whole event had been staged as part of our creative writing week.

Thanks to PC Gary Lynch and all the Callowell Staff for their hard work in making this event such a success.

Wet Welly Wednesday

On Wednesday January 18th, we asked the children to wear their wellies and bring a pound to raise money to put towards outdoor equipment for the Forest School area. Mr Jones is  hoping to be able to take Junior children into the woodland area for some outdoor learning very soon. We had a parade of wellies and picked out some of the snazziest designs!

Text Service Launched

Callowell  Primary  School is pleased to announce that we are now able to use text messaging to communicate school news, updates, reminders, events and other important information! Text messaging is a discreet, convenient, secure and reliable method of communication, which will save the school time and money by reducing the burden on our busy administration team, allowing us to focus on learning.

We understand the importance of working in partnership with the families of our children to ensure that each child receives the best education that the school can offer. Text messaging will help us to keep you informed at all times so that together we can offer the best support for your child. With this in mind, we are asking all parents to update us with their current mobile telephone numbers to allow us to utilise the system effectively.

From time to time you will receive a text message from the school.

Please be assured that this service is FREE to you as the recipient of the text message.

We appreciate your support of this initiative as we trial this system.
