Carol Singing

On Monday December 12th, we didn't let the rain dampen our spirits as we went on our annual evening of carol singing around the estate. We sang for 40 minutes in the pouring rain before returning to school for a well earned hot chocolate. We had a great turnout of nearly 2/3 of Year 5 & 6 and raised £82.83 for Cancer Research UK.

Netball Success

On Thursday December 1st, Callowell's netball team went to Foxmoor to play in the district netball league finals. They won their first game 7.2 against Bussage and went down 4.3 to a last minute goal against Foxmoor to finish 2nd for the whole of the Stroud District. Well done to all of the team, including those who played in the earlier league fixtures.

On Wednesday 10th November, as part of our People Who Help assembly topic, we welcomed Lisa from our local St John's Ambulance service who came in to talk about what they do and why they do it. With the help of two Badgers, Lisa demonstrated how to bandaged up a damaged arm and put it in a sling. She also told us about Badgers and Cadets so if you are interested in joining either, there are leaflets in the office.

Healthy Lunchbox Morning

On Thursday 20th October, Years 4, 5 & 6 spent the morning making healthy lunchboxes as part of their DT topic. Year 3 followed on Friday 21st October. The children designed and made their own sandwiches, vegetable kebab and apple & carrot muffin which, with a piece of fruit, constituted a healthy and balanced lunchbox.
