Our high-quality history education helps pupils to gain the skills required to develop a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. It inspires pupils’ curiosity to know more about the past.
Each lesson focuses on a different historical skill. In our school, the children will have the relevant History Skills Success Criteria stuck in each lesson reference. Children will explore all of the skills over a theme. Thus, skills are highlighted and given the focus they need. The skills, shown below, link with the Vocabulary Progression and the Progression of Skills document.
