Chestnut Class: Year 5

Welcome to the Chestnut Class page!

Class Teacher: Mrs Cole

Teaching Partner: Mrs Wilson and Ms Lewis-Knight

We are thrilled to have your child as part of our class this year and look forward to taking you on our learning journey as the year progresses.

General Information:

  • Your child should come to school with their PE Kit on Thursdays and Fridays (Summer Term). Our PE Kit consists of a navy PE top, blue/black shorts/jogging bottoms and trainers. As November and December tend to be cold, please ensure that pupils have warm PE kit for outdoor learning.

  • Reading diaries must be in school at the beginning of each day. The expectation is that each child will read at home at least three times a week. This will be checked by the class teacher on Thursday. Please make sure parents or guardians sign the diary.

Our learning in the Spring term:

  •  In Maths we will begin our learning with a focus on measure and converting between different units of measure. We will continue working on different elements of measure and consolidate our learning on Fractions. We will finish the year with a unit on statistics.
